So seitdem 01.08. hat neben dem Pendant an der Kaiserstraße nun auch ein (kleines) zweites Schneider's Café in Frankfurt eröffnet. Das gehört zur Kette Wiener's, deren Filialen allesamt im Münchener Raum angesiedelt sind. Der Laden, der vormals die Patisserie Iimori beherbergte, ist sehr schön eingerichtet und zudem fällt durch die großen Fenster zur Straße viel Licht ein. Wie zu vermuten bietet das Café Frühstücksspezialitäten Österreichs an. Wenige Dinge kenne ich und ob der Rest frei erfundene Speisen mit österreichischen Namen (Palatschinken statt Pfannkuchen) oder typische Kost unserer Nachbarn ist sei dahingestellt.

Wir nehmen einmal den Palatschinken mit gefüllt mit Spinat und Tomate (€ 4,90), ein Vollkorntoast (€3,90) mit Serranoschinken und Rucola sowie eine Portion Räucherlachs mit Sahnemeerrettich (€ 5,90). Dazu  kommt noch gemischtes Gebäck (€ 2,10).

Der Palatschinken ist dünn und noch schön warm und die Füllung macht auf uns einen frischen Eindruck. Für mich könnte sie noch einen Tick raffinierter abgeschmeckt sein aber ich bin sowieso ein chronischer Nachsalzer und- würzer aber meine Begleitung empfindet dasselbe. Am Lachs gibt es nichts zu meckern ebenso wenig am Vollkorntoast. Begleitet wird das Ganze mit Cappuchino und Moccha und hinsichtlich Kaffee kann man den Wienern ja nicht viel vormachen. Zum Nachtisch gibt es dann noch einen, aus dem sündigen Kuchenpool mühsam ausgesuchten, wirklich leckeren Himbeersahnekuchen (€ 3,60).

Für ein entspanntes Frühstück, Kaffee und Kuchen ist das kleine Kaffee Schneider auch durch die gemütlich -schöne Einrichtung und dem wirklich netten Personal durchaus zu empfehlen.

So this the second Schneider's Café opening in Frankfurt. They are part of the Wiener's ( hmmm...nope does not sound appropriate in English, so: Vienna) franchise chain that has branches all located in the Munich area. The store which previously was occupied by the Imori patisserie shows off with beautiful interior design supported by large windows illuminating the place brightly. As the origins suggest this offers a variety of Austrian breakfast specialities though, since I am not too familiar with Austrian cuisine, I am not sure if these are real Austrian dishes or if the were just given Austrian names.

We opt for the pancake stuffed with spinach and tomato (€ 4.90), a whole grain toast with serrano ham and rucola (€ 3.90), a portion of smoked salmon with horseradish cream (€ 5.90)​​ and a mixed bread plattern (€2.10).

The pancakes are thin and still warm and the filling seems to be quiet fresh. It could still be flavoured a tad more intensely but I'm infamous for adding salt and lots of other spices to any dish anyway. In this case my company felt the same though. There is nothing to complain about the salmon or about the rucola-serrano bread. We have some very good cappuccino and Moccha but you wouldn't expect anything less from the Viennese, would you?

Out of the delicious looking cake we select a piece of rasperry cream cake that definitely delivers what you expect from its look. (€ 3.60).

The complete package consisting of interior design, friendly staff and quiet good food makes it a place where you can't go too wrong.
